If this is a problem for you, truth social and x and now fb is your home. Stick with the chain emails from your great aunt who shares every piece of nonsense to the family that usually eyerolls and deletes it. Tiktok is also under scrutiny for potentially being sold to a extreme right wing Canadian idiot. Do not be surprised if the last holdouts are Bluesky and here. I don't even know what to say. Fascists and billionaires are taking everything that's not nailed down and stuffing it into their pockets.

An additional addon has been implemented and it's request is an interesting one.
NSFW.

As porn is strictly prohibited on Tiboko, yet in the Native world, this brings conflict. Not the porn part, but nudity. A lot of old historical photos cannot be added on facebook or instagram or well, pretty much any social media site nowadays. Even for artistic or news purposes. Dancers and performers who are Indigenous often find themselves at odds with marketing themselves as the "push the edge" of what these sites consider acceptable. Even tho profiles can be made to be "friends only" as can posts and even Groups can be members only upon approval (Our test Group marked as Monde d'Addams, some have noted) these all exist, yes. But, for things like history or pre modern times or even some of the Tribal Rituals and videos push the limits of what some feel comfortable posting for fear of losing ones account, we have added -Sensitive Post-. In sum, users will be able to mark "sensitive" posts (NSFW/nudity,violence(police brutality, etc) spoilers etc). The entire post content will be hidden until clicked. What lays behind the post is up to the poster. It's the same as what reddit and fb use. A blur with an eyeball.

You will notice a few new tabs in Resources and in your Profile Listing as well as a new login.

One is Store:
profile -> about -> preferences -> apply to become vendor (currently it is set for automatic approval, when we are big enough to have Mods, it will be set for approval only)
dashboard -> settings store (make sure you fill out how to get paid. We will be adding more methods in due time.
Stripe for CC, Paypal, direct bank account, Google and Apple Pay. All are being added. Security to the site was needed to upgrade before adding some of these settings. Currently, it is set for 1% to Tiboko for hosting. I am still working through lowering payouts to individuals through each of these companies to eliminate costs to vendors as some places, like paypal etc add on a 3%+/- charge as well.
Digital downloads is also being tested for teachers who wish to sell video lessons online and not use the Akidahawa School.

The Other is Jobs:
A simple jobs listing page to pass information on about job listings. When filled out, it will list them on the right under birthdays and above hashtags and in the Jobs Board listing that is now available.

These are both in beta stages and yet are currently working. If there are issues, we will work through them and in no time it should be fine. Updates to Terms and Conditions and Privacy were/are required for commerce reasons as well.

New Year, New Tiboko things!

The new redesigned postbox is here with one, well, two things in mind. First of all, I wanted to modernize the look and feel of it. Secondly, I wanted to focus on the flow and usability.

***Like "Pages"*** is new and they can be used to represent businesses, causes, celebrities, brands or anything in between to connect with their audience, share content, and engage with followers. Why would you need a page for that and not just a profile? I’m so glad you asked.

Unlike profiles, which can contain mixed content or sensitive details, Pages provide the focus of a singular topic. Pages unlike profiles can also be managed by multiple people. You have your Page Owner, Page Manager and Moderators. You can’t have a profile managed by multiple people unless you share your login details with multiple people and that’s just not safe.

Unlike convoluted algorithms at the big social networks, in Tiboko, updates from Pages you follow won’t be missed. Users are automatically subscribed to follow onsite notifications and email notifications whenever there’s a new update within a page they follow.

There’s a number of other changes, improvements and fixes. For example, I refreshed all of the default avatars and cover photos. As always, you can easily make these default ones your own. Just use image overrides.
